I took my dog here after having a quote which was £350 cheaper than my local vets. I travelled a 1hr 10mins to get there.. when I arrived I was greeted by a very polite veterinary nurse who explained that the vet had gone to a hospital appointment but would do the procedure as soon as he was back. My dog also had a skin tag attached to her eyelid which I had previously had a quote from my local vets for £800 so I asked how much more it would be to be taken off.. she then asked the vet when he returned and called me to say he would take it off free of charge so all together by taking my dog here I saved £1150. I collected her almost immediately after she came round from the anesthetic which was good because she is very anxious without me and i got home around 4 hours earlier than expected. Highly recommend place from me.

Excellent care and service

After being Misold a pet the sellers told us my pet had a clean health record of stead we had to go for vaccination 2nd as we couldn’t get tbe same one anywhere else stead came out just lunged at our pet with tbe shot no questions how is he nothing dirty fingernails filthy premises think his staff are scared to speak he is a massive liar and nasty man avoid at all cost should be struck off reading the other reviews Avoid!!!

Booked my girl in for a C section, she was out within the hour, with 4 healthy pups. Not lost any ❤️

Excellent vet that puts pet's before profit, unlike so many vet chains who make animal care unaffordable for most.

We travel from hull to steds as they are straight to the point no messing and the prices are worth the travel thank you all 🙏

Mr Stead is a very good veterinary, you don't have to wait long to be seen and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Prices are absolutely shocking! ! ! Paid £200 for a 5 minut visit! 70£ for an appointment ,46£ for a cream which you can get for £9.99 and £84 for tablets which you can get for £20 . Disappointed.

Please read the low star reviews especially if you are on PDSA or don’t have an expensive animal, or litter, he can make money from. Tim despite signing up to do PDSA subsidised fees appears to treat all these cases with disgust. I’ve spoken to countless people with the same experience. I was down as a PDSA patient but intended on saving the charity’s money and paying. He laughed in my face demanding to know where my kitten was from, told me my cat had fleas when he didn’t (confirmed by a different vet) and injected him with something without explaining what it was. He charged me for a load of flea treatment he didn’t need and then said “you can make your “donation” on the way out” and began to just walk out. He was also covered in blood. I said no I am paying in full. He just raised his eyebrows. I don’t know whether it is because I am young or because I am a woman but he treated me and my cat with disgust. We never went back. Why Tim, who doesn’t have a charitable bone in his body, agreed to be the only PDSA vet in York I don’t know, and on asking around it seems he treats his more profitable cases a lot better. His receptionist seemed appalled and I feel so sorry for all the team working with this ‘’man’.
