I moved away from York and still travel back to this practice with my cat if she needs the vet. Tim just gets on with it and does what needs doing to help your pet. Highly recommended.

Ive used this practice for many years and am surprised to see some negative reviews. Tim is a traditional vet. He gets the job done and in my opinion his surgical skills are 2nd to none. My breed is Bulldog and I have found no other who understands the breed issues like Tim. Yes his writing is hard to decipher and he comes to his diagnosis quickly without unnecessary small talk but I trust him and I know he cares for the animals in his care.

I had my cat put 2 sleep here on the 9th December x absolutely traumatic from start 2 finish x the vet didn't speak to us or let us know what he was doing x as he was lifting my cat out of the carrier he jabbed him in mid air and said..I have just given him a sedative and left x I had to shut the surgery door because he was doing all this for all the waiting room to see x I was mortified x my cat was finding it hard to swallow as i was cuddling him and I began to panic x the vet was gone ages and i couldn't see anybody to shout of,and I just stood there in tears til the vet came back x he came back in the room grabbed my cats paw and shaved his leg and then just injected him with the stuff that puts them to sleep and left again x he came back...said my cat had passed away and said I will give u 5 mins with him x my cat emptied his bowels on me after he passed and the vet just picked up a towel...sprayed my coat...wiped it off and left x I never saw him again x I was left holding my dead cat for that long I just had to walk out and leave him on the table x if I hadn't have had to get the bus home I would never have left my cat there x heartbroken isn't the word x the place was filthy...cluttered and nobody cared x

I struggle to put into words just how absolutely horrific this vet is! He has a total lack of compassion. Treats animals like their dirt, with barely any communication to explain what's going on and couldn't wait to get rid of us, we were in the room for less that 30 seconds! He reduced my boys steroids which I questioned with another vet, not only was the dosage he reduced it to useless and doing nothing it was also dangerous and he should have been tapered down slowly, luckily not enough time has passed for it to do any damage! Luckily this was a follow up appointment from the charity I got him from so I won't ever have to see this man again! You couldn't pay me a million pounds to take my babies back to see that horrible man 😔 Reception staff all really lovely but I would really advise they get out of that place quick sharp!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Shocking experience. As many reviews say on here - extremely dismissive, zero compassion, and not interested in our girl at all. Staff were absolutely lovely and so sweet - clearly embarrassed by the doctors demeanour! Our girl had just had puppies and was extremely hot, not eating and we were very worried. Told she had ‘some form of infection’ and despite asking questions were dismissed and rushed out with a £250 bill! Told to give her two things (which were not explained). I tried to say I felt she had swollen mammoth glands and milk production was stuck. He just said ‘Normal.’ and walked out the room. Turns out I was right! Pus filled glands and he did not care or even acknowledge it when we called again. Money chasing, rude and horrible. The staff should work elsewhere as they were the sweetest ladies.

This is a new review August 2025 as we now have an 17 month old Cocker Spaniel who has just experienced his boys operation ,enough said poor lad but once again we must say a big thank you to Tim & the staff who do a wonderful job in this small & friendly practice we were reassured & didn’t worry unfortunately one testicle was undescended all went well & our beautiful boy is back to his normal self ! Tim looked after all our Guinea Pigs over 20 years before we progressed to dogs !, we had eye surgery , ovarian treatment … almost anything a little piggy can have we have always been treated with care and compassion when needed especially with the loss of the small animals when I have sobbed terribly all have gone to rest at Tim’s .We then lost our previous Cocker Spaniel at age 2 very sadly due to a blood disorder nothing any Bet could have done to save him but our new boy is now under Tim’s care .Thank you all !

My french bulldog was booked i. for a planned c-section, the vet was very kind and could sense I was worked up he let me stay with my girl whilst he delivered the Anastasia. He safely delivered 6 pups. Mum and pups are all doing well. After reading the reviews I was sceptical but I would definitely recommend this vet and will use them again.
